How MySpace users get viruses

Posted by: Edd Mills on: January 24, 2007

As a MySpace user, I continually find joy in seeing what other people post in bulletins that reference to viruses and other Internet threats. I just read one from a friend of mine informing us all of a new virus that will destroy your life and kill your family before attempting a coup on the British Government. What makes me laugh is though, is just how Myspace users pick up these viruses. You can just imagine it:

“OMGZ EMAILZ!!111″
*click*
“OMGZ ATTACHMENTZ!!1111!”
*click*
“OMGZ NOOOO”
*run* or CTRL+ALT+DEL (Always a popular choice for when all else fails.)

What does it take to look at what you’re downloading off the Internet? Surely we’ve all learnt that the Internet is a dangerous place if you’re not aware of what you’re doing? Downloading things is completely safe as long as you use your head. If you don’t know what an attachment is or are unsure about a file you’re downloading, don’t download it!
