With my Nan’s funeral fast approaching, we have been given a small card on which to write a message to go with the flowers (we’ve got one of those frames that says “Nan”.) Basically, both me and Liz need to say goodbye to Nan in about 50 words, depending on how ridiculously small we can write in which case it may be more (competition anybody?) Despite the fact that I am intending to read out a little speech I wrote about Nan which is basically my goodbye, what goes on these flowers is almost like the final goodbye. How can I say goodbye to my Nan in so few words? I have so much I want to say and ask and understand about what has happened but I obviously will never get these questions answered. I suppose that is what makes it so hard, the fact that you’ll never truly understand everything that happened. All I know is that the barriers on my emotions are set to break soon, and I’m not particularly looking forward to when they do.
