I was just reading a book on Interactive and Animated cartography (you can see the book here) for a piece of work I’m completing for University and I found an interesting section on the future mediums for experiencing maps. The books describes a “superboard”:
“It would be flat and portable” “The screen itself would be touch sensitive but a stylus pointing device or mouse could be attached for more precise command or drawing tasks. A graphic keyboard would be implemented on the screen to allow typing but the computer would normally not be used with a keyboard.” “Stylus computers may not become successful until they can support more sophisticated computer graphic applications.”
It took 15 years, but welcome to the future. Awesome.
